Chartres, south side, right--"Bay of the Confessors"
Right side:
• St. Nicholas (center right) drops money down into the home of a poor family whose father is too ill to provide proper dowries for his three daughters. They had been destined to prostitution.

OUTER GABLE
• Statues: OT figures, but identity unknown. The right pillar has two statues, one of Saint Potentian, archbishop of Sens and missionary to the Gauls, and Saint Modesta, daughter of Roman governor Quirinus, an early martyr of Chartres.

• St. James the Greater (of Peter, James, and John). Has belt of shells--the "coquilles St. Jacques" [scallops] were his symbol and often worn by pilgrims.
