Description
This is a commentary on Matthew 21-23, Mark 11, Luke 19-20, and John 12. These are seven chapters that move beyond Jesus’ training of the Twelve. These chapters cover the opening days of Holy Week beginning with Palm Sunday and Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. We will talk about His cleansing of the temple and talk about anger in His and our lives and whether or not anger can be a creative emotion or something to be avoided completely. We will look at Jesus’ authority, the context of the Roman rule of Judæa, the hypocrisy of the Jewish leadership, Jesus’ giving them and the people one last chance. We will talk about Zacchæus’ conversion and how that might apply to those with whom we live and work. We will see Jesus anointed by Mary and early intimations of Gethsemane. pp.43
