This is a commentary on Isaiah 50-57—the text for Lesson 40 “He Hath Borne Our Griefs and Carried Our Sorrows” in the Come, Follow Me for Individuals and Families manual for 2022. Lesson 40 speaks mostly about the atonement of Jesus Christ. It speaks of our need to move out of Babylon. The role of the Sabbath in building a Zion society is outlined. Isaiah takes up gender and family issues that translate easily to our day and speaks of God’s welcome extending to all—particularly in the matter of blessings available in the temple. The depths of depravity of the children of Israel were also described speaking to the desperate need for a Redeemer and a Saviour. pp.98.
