There's no great source for the other tribes other than Levi (basically the law of Moses description of their role and John the Baptist's statement to Joseph and Oliver), Judah (we know a lot about the Jews in the last days and their role from various scriptures, and Ephraim (from Hosea, Isaiah, and the Doctrine and Covenants which essentially is a set of commandments for the Church which is now largely Ephraim). The roles of the other ten (since there are 13 tribes) are more obscure. We know most about Benjamin after the first three I mentioned, but then the rest have very thin information in scripture. What I meant by the quote you cited is that when someone is declared part of one of the less common tribes, there might be elements in their personal patriarchal blessing which talk about their role. Since the blessings are sacred and private--we don't know what's in them. I'm just speculating that if you could find everyone who had been told they were from Naphtali (for example) and then collate the information in their blessings, you might get a clue as to the role of Naphtali in the latter days. I'll send you a thing I wrote on Benjamin for a Mom who wanted to know about that tribe since her son was told he was in that one. Best regards, T

You're welcome. Thanks for the idea on the Egyptian's entrance into slavery for food--good insight.

You mention: Modern patriarchs in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints expand and illuminate the
blessings of these other tribes. Where can I find this information. I am so curious how many of the "lost 10" have been named and where they are located and what their roles are in the last days.

Thank you for all of your insights. I especially marveled at the correlation between Rachel claiming her menstruation to divert Laban from finding his stolen gods and her dying in childbirth. One thing you did not mention, which had popped into my mind while reading is that during the famine, the Egyptians gave up everything - money, livestock, land and became slaves in exchange for food which I felt was an echo of Esau giving up his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup.
